DIY Home Automation aka Do it Yourself Home Automation is a hot concept among technically capable home owners who yearn to turn their house into a Smart Home.
Many new consumer products in the market appear to fit the bill, but there can be pitfalls. Unlike many other countries, by Australian Law, products that integrate with the home on an electrical level need to be installed by a licenced electrician, making true DIY Home Automation a bit of a misnomer.
